Service Director/Manager

Location: Colma, CA

Subaru/Volkswagen Franchises Service Director/Manager needed immediately! High volume dealer looking for a full time, experienced, high energy, professional with strong communication skills and who will operate the department at maximum production, building customer satisfaction, maintaining positive work environment, setting and obtaining department goals.


  • Meets with the GM and participates in the preparation of the monthly and annual dealership forecast by projecting parts and labor sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profits for the service departments.
  • Makes sure facility is secure and operational; all equipment is in safe working order, and remains professional in appearance.
  • Works closely with parts manager to ensure necessary parts are in stock ensuring 100% fixed-first visits.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and business and handles customer concerns.
  • Monitors the payroll and time worked records for the service staff; receives and approves time off requests, processes completed job tickets daily.
  • Adopts, understands and supports dealership policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that the service department understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA; remains a pro-active member of the safety committee.
  • Establishes and maintains standards for the delivery quality service to our customers to ensure high CSI.
  • Ability to Hire, train, motivate, counsel and improve the performance of all service department staff 
  • Properly process and approve all documents and paperwork in a timely fashion 
  • Handle customer concerns immediately and according to the dealerships guidelines. 


  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience recommended
  • Technical automotive knowledge
  • Dealership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage others
  • Distribute work between technicians
